Adventist Technical Secondary School has emerged the winner of the second edition of the Abia state schools quiz competition with 52 points.
The event was held at the international conference center, Umuahia, Abia state.
Victory College International scored 40 points that earned them the third position while Masters Vessels Classical Academy scored 42 points to grab the second position.
The Grand finale of Abia State Schools Quiz Competition sponsored by Ray Nkemdirim Foundation in collaboration with Abia State Ministry of Education, Secondary Education Management Board, SEMB, Abia State Scholarship Board, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, FLO94.9 FM among others.
About 180 Schools across Abia State took part in the competition from Local Government to Zonal series where three of them qualified for the finals.
The Coordinator, Ray Nkemdirim Foundation, Uche Ama-ohakah commended the turn out in this year’s competition. While applauding the partners that made the event a huge success.
Ijioma great, a student of Mayfair Academy, who scored 332 in the last Joint Addmision and Matriculation Board(JAMB) was given a brand by Chief Raymond Nkemdirim.
Recall that Mayfair Academy won last year’s edition held at International Conference Centre, Umuahia.
Enugu State is located in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.
The city derives its name from the various hill and mountains that surround the capital city, hence the literal meaning of the name Enu Ugwu which means the top of the hill.
The state is also known as a coal city because coal was mined from the state during the colonial period. It recorded that the first European settlers arrived in the state in 1909 and by 1914 the first shipment of coal was transported to Britain.
It is also the only state in Nigeria that has popularized its dialing code 042, which has become the city's iconic code name.

This competition is a national science competition held annually for senior secondary school students in Nigeria.

Since fest season is round the corner, a lot of you would have to take part in the inter-college debate competition. A lot of school children would also have made their minds to let go of their fear and go on the stage to participate in the debate competition.
Here are the following benefits of debating and why it is essential to take part in a debate competition.
1. Debating is fun and is a great way to gain confidence.
2. Debating is a great way to do away with the fear of public speaking.
3. Taking part in a debate competition requires you to research the topics and hence also improves your general awareness.
4. Taking part in a debate competition improves your ability to speak spontaneously which is essential. No matter what career you choose in your life, you will have to speak up spontaneously.
Debates help you develop that habit.
5. Taking part in debate competitions is a means of great practise for future campus placements, IAS Interviews, Public Speaking.
Despite knowing these benefits, the majority of students don't take part in debate competition because they are scared and terrified that they would not to able to speak properly. They are scared that since they don't speak good English, and hence this is not for them.
Through this video, I mean to change that forever. I don't just want to help the only ones who already take part in debates and are confident to speak publicly, but also for those who are not confident to speak publicly.

また、決勝大会は、両国国技館にて開催される
日本最大級のストリートダンスイベント「DANCE@LIVE 2016 JAPAN FINAL」
会場内にて行われ、
国内外の世界トップダンサーたちによって審査されます。
