How to Manufacture Hummus

Hummus, or houmous, is savory a dip or spread which is made from a puree of cooked chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice and other spices, but recipes can vary widely according to taste.

Hummus can be made quickly and easily using a Silverson High Viscosity In-Line mixer in conjunction with a stirrer/scraper unit. The HV In-Line mixer is designed to handle higher viscosity products such as hummus.

Interchangeable workheads are available, offering greater flexibility and enabling manufacturers to obtain the desired texture.
