Scriptures: Acts 2:46-47
This week, we are launching a two-part series called “Soul Winning Made Simple.” Today’s sermon is subtitled: “How to develop the habit of soul winning.” I want you to understand that God responds to your actions, you reap what you sow and there is strength in consistency.
What is a Habit?
A habit is a settled, regular tendency or practice especially one that is hard to give up. Evangelism will be a firmly established routine activity in Family Worship Centre that will be difficult to abandon. Evangelism will become our second nature and lifestyle. I want to focus the ministry on winning souls and keep it there until Jesus returns.
It takes more than 21 days to form a habit, it is now agreed that it takes at least 66 to 254 days. Even after then, you will have to stay with it. It will take us 2 to 6 months to build the habit of evangelism.
Forming a habit is a process, not an event. The first step is to accept that forming the habit of evangelism will take a process. We must all sign in, no one must be left behind. It is a command from God not an exclusive gift to some people. We are what we repeatedly do. When you form a good habit, you conquer a bad one.
5 PROVEN WAYS OF FORMING A HABIT.
1. Set Specific goals-
Our goal is soul winning. The way you define a goal is important. You have to define the importance of the goal you are setting. The importance you ascribe to a goal will determine the value you place on it. Soul winning is an instruction from God so it is an important goal. We were saved for evangelism. Soul winning determines if you are wise or foolish.
You will know you are a wise person when you are winning souls. Wise Christians win souls for Jesus because that is what will last forever. Our specific goal for 2023 is to win 5 souls for Jesus and have them planted in Church. - Proverbs 11:30
2. Create a detailed Cue-based plan.
