With the unofficial count nearly completed, support for Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has ruled Turkey for 20 years with an increasingly authoritarian grip, dipped below the majority required for him to win reelection outright. Erdogan had 49.5% of the vote, while Kemal Kilicdaroglu had 44.8%, according to the state-run news agency Anadolu.
A candidate needed to secure 50% of votes to avoid the runoff.
Voters in Turkey were largely concerned about domestic issues such as the economy, civil rights and a February earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people. But Western nations and investors also awaited the outcome. Turkey's main benchmark stock index fell more than 6% in early trading Monday as investors absorbed the uncertain election results, before recovering to trade about 2.5% down.

On Friday, May 31, Turkish riot police fired tear gas and pepper spray into a peaceful protest held to save Gezi Park, one of the last green areas in central Istanbul. What They FOUND Inside Noah's ARK in Turkey TERRIFIES The World!
After many years of searching, people claim that Noah's Ark, as mentioned in the Bible, has been found in Turkey
For decades archaeologists and experts have been looking for the remains of this interesting wooden structure
Christians are celebrating the recent discovery of the Ark because of its significance in the Bible and history overall
But let alone the excitement everybody has for the discovery of the ark, this is not even the biggest news
Something Terrifying has been discovered inside of the Ark that has shocked all religious people and you won't grasp the reality of this until you've seen whats next.
The Lost Ark
Near the border of Iran and Turkey, there's been a big find in archaeology that's got people all over the world talking and wondering. A group called the Mount Ararat and Noah's Ark Research Team, made up of people from Turkish and American colleges, has been very carefully digging at a place called the Durupinar formation. This place is mostly made of a kind of rock called limonite and local stories have long said it might be what's left of Noah's Ark, a famous story in the holy books of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
The Durupinar site in Turkey is really catching people's attention because it's shaped like a boat and it's about the same size as Noah's Ark is said to be in the Bible. If you measure it like we do in the U.S., it's about 515 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 49 feet high. The stuff you find at the site is really old, from between 5500 and 3000 BC. There's clay-like stuff, things that came from the sea, and even bits of old seafood. All this makes people think that a lot of people were there a long time ago and it might be connected to the Noah's Ark story.
Turkey and Saudi Arabia have joined forces to condemn Israel's alleged role in the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, which has led to a fallout in Middle East peace efforts. Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz and Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji both spoke out against Israel's actions at an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The two nations accused Israel of fostering regional instability through "extremist and racist" policies, and described Haniyeh's assassination as a "shameless act" and "blatant violation" of Iran's sovereignty. They also criticized Israel's recent legislative actions against Palestinians and the international community's inaction in preventing bloodshed. The OIC held Israel fully responsible for the assassination, and a senior Iranian official vowed to defend against Israel, which it holds responsible for Haniyeh's death.

The eyes of the world are glued to their TV sets, no one wants to miss a single sport that is being played in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The matches are exciting, and the perseverance of athletes is awe-inspiring. With the whole world watching, a few athletes are catching more attention than the others. This time the internet can’t keep calm after watching a 51-year-old shooter who bagged a silver medal in the mixed team 10-meter air pistol shooting. Yusuf Dikec, a Turkish shooter, has gone viral for his casual stance while he shot his way through a silver medal. The viral photo shows Dikec wearing his own standard glasses in place of a shooting lens and one hand in his pocket, aiming to take his shot. His stance is so unfazed that the internet can’t decide if he seems more like a regular guy or a hitman. Shooters often wear earplugs to minimize distractions and also use lenses to reduce glare and improve focus. Dikec's technique is unique since he shoots with both eyes open, whereas shooters usually keep one eye close to increase focus. The event took place in Chateauroux, central France.

"A couple of important trends – tourism is recovering faster than was anticipated, that's caused airport problems all through Europe, also in Dublin. It's also seeing the removal of barriers and that uncertainty that the barriers bring. Eh testing…pre-departure testing, and locator forms were removed earlier in Ireland than they were in some of the key markets, an example is the USA which still required pre-departure testing until the beginning of June before you returned to the United states. That was a big issue, people felt they could be trapped in Ireland."

"Well I think this summer will be strong. I think Q4 and into next year is more difficult to judge, it's…it's a more uncertain time. A lot of the pent up demand and deferred bookings will have washed through the system. You also have quite worrying sort of macro economic circumstances. You have interest rates rising, you have inflation being embedded. Who knows what's going to happen with the Ukraine eh situation and all the consequences of that. So next year is certainly far less certain and the industry is kind of mindful that the recovery isn't necessarily going to be linear, it might be quite bumpy. The full recovery of Irish tourism is still probably three or four years away but we've certainly made a strong start this year."

To kick off our Ireland trip, we spent 3 days in Dublin exploring the city and vising some of the top attractions. Dublin is a very walkable city and there are so many great things to see and do during your time there. We stayed in the Temple Bar neighborhood, which is a very central location, as many of the main attractions are on the south side of the River Liffey. However, you really can’t go wrong wherever you stay in the city center.
During our time in Dublin, we visited Dublin Castle, The Guiness Storehouse, Temple Bar, Trinity College including the Book of Kells and The Long Room of the Old Library, Ha’Penny Bridge, The Brazen Head, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral, The Molly Malone Statue, The Church Restaurant and Bar and so much more.
