Get used to how you sound and get past the ‘cringe-factor’. By observing and listening to yourself, you will notice habits and other distractions that you can fix. Learn to love the way you sound – if you don’t, no one else will.
- HELPING PEOPLE OVERCOME AND BELIEVE WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT THEM.
- ABLE TO STAND ALONE IN A NEWSPAPER: Every message should include points that would stand alone in the newspaper. For example, years ago I wrote a book with a controversial title. I was young at the time and thought it was a great idea to use a controversial title. But as Hillsong's profile (and my own profile grew), I may as well have drawn a bullseye on my forehead. It became fodder for journalists wanting to criticise it's content. Let’s assume everything you say is quotable and can be published in a newspaper – how does it stand then? Think about how would you sound without your spirit and physical presence on it - quoted in black and white?

Hillsong held an emergency all-staff meeting today – the second within the space of a week, to announce the resignation/sacking of Global Pastor Brian Houston from his role after explosive revelations about his conduct and the subsequent Board cover-up.
Interim Global Senior Pastor (although the title 'Interim' may shortly change) Phil Dooley was given the melancholy task and it is increasingly apparent he doesn't want to be there. In last Sunday's sermon he opined he'd rather be surfing.

On the 30th of January 2022 Hillsong Church congregants across all campuses were shocked to witness a video during the morning services from Brian and Bobbie Houston.
Brian was standing down from all leadership roles, pending the resolution of criminal charges brought by NSW Police concerning Brian's concealment of his father Frank's child sex offences against up to nine boys.
Brian had previously been stood down from all Board positions at Hillsong's 20+ corporate entities in 2021, but endured criticism when it was pointed out that Hillsong's own company constitution stipulated that the Senior Pastor is automatically the Chairman of every Board.
Brian therefore was forced to step down as Senior Pastor while ever he remains stood down from those boards.
In this video of the service of the 30th of January, Brian's wife Bobbie preaches immediately after the announcement, denouncing those who seek accountability for the church for criminal acts.

When Bobbi Kristina passed away on the 26th of July 2015 from a combination of alcohol, drugs and drowning, it was a death that shocked the world. This was not only due to its tragedy, but by the haunting similarities to the death of her mother. The 22-year-old was found face down and unresponsive in her bath and spent several months in a coma before passing away in a hospice. The autopsy report states that her death was 'clearly not due to natural causes', and with the coroner classifying the manner of death as 'undetermined', it leaves a question mark over whether it was suicide, an accident or something more sinister.

The world lost one of its greatest performers in 2012, when Whitney Houston was found dead in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, having accidentally drowned. Only three years later, Houston’s daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown, died under eerily similar circumstances in her Alpharetta, Georgia home.
It took months before Brown’s autopsy results were finally unsealed, a choice that was made at the request of Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard. Brian Houston, the disgraced former leader of Hillsong, was charged in 2021 with concealing the pedophilia of his father Frank Houston.
The criminal trial began yesterday in the District Court in Sydney, and this is a local media account of the charge.
Frank, and not Brian Houston was the founder of the Church that became Hillsong, That church, formerly Hills Christian Life Centre, was given to his son Brian as a fiefdom. We are entitled to ask: Can such a bad tree bear good fruit?

- Bobbie believed when Brian went to tell her she thought Brian was going to tell her he was having an affair.
