In Acts 10, we are introduced to a man who’s devotion broke through convention and culture, and drew the attention of God, Himself. The lifestyle of Cornelius was so extraordinary that it came up as a memorial before God, causing Him to supernaturally intervene and thus change the trajectory of his life in order to bring the gospel to him and his entire family. The Eternal God of the universe says of Cornelius that his devotion reached into the heavens as a memorial before His throne. What a testimony!
Now, more than ever, we need men who are wholeheartedly devoted to leaving a legacy of salvation for their families.

In Proverbs 31, Solomon asks the question, “Who can find a virtuous woman?” He asks this question due to the fact that the kind of woman who possesses this particular attribute is rare. During the time of Christ, we encounter a woman who suffered from constant bleeding that received her healing by touching the edge of His garment. Jesus immediately responded to the touch by saying virtue had gone out of Him and into the woman by faith.
In this instance, we discover that virtue in not innate, has nothing to do with pedigree or personal achievement, but it is the result of grace through faith that recognizes and receives from its Source.

A few years ago, I noticed that the house was cold, and no matter how much I turned up the thermometer the temperature remained unaffected. After thoroughly checking the furnace and confirming that the pilot was lit, I had no choice but to call in a technician who could better assess the situation and fix the heating problem in the home. When he arrived, within a minute he checked the filter, which I hadn’t changed for an entire year, and let me know that this was the problem. The heat couldn't flow pass the dirty filter.
Our own filter is a defense mechanism that determines what gets in or out of our lives. When we are not experiencing the flow of God’s grace we might consider changing our filter.

In these times of uncertainty the only way to differentiate between what is authentic versus what is counterfeit will be our fruit. God prioritized fruitfulness in the origin of human history as the first instruction of man, but sin corrupted the fruit and revealed our need for salvation. In Part III of this message series, Pastor Paul Arthurs encourages believers to apply the Fruit of the Spirit in every aspect of our lives, as that is what brings glory to God.

All of us are on a journey in life that is determined by the numerous choices that we make. Even the choices that seem insignificant can have drastic impact on our trajectory. If one is to arrive at an intended destination, at a specific time, especially when they are unfamiliar with the road on which they are traveling; it is imperative that he/she has proper directions. A major challenge we face in these days is living in a culture where there are multiple voices that masquerade as wisdom, but in the end, they lead to an undesired destination.
In the midst of the cacophony of pseudo truths offering meaning, Jesus stands alone possessing the exclusive rights as the ONLY means to abundant life in the presence of the Father.

Jesus runs into a man that has been unable to move for 38 years and asks him a direct question. The man's response speaks to the depravity of his condition.
Our responses in life often reveal the deep issues that have brought us to a place of stagnation from which we are unable to escape. The love of God finds us where we're stuck in the miry clay of excuses, blame and offense and asks us if we want to be well.
We have the option to stay in the place we have known or step up in life with our faith in the Word of God.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of BECOMING!

We are admonished in the Scriptures to walk in the Spirit. Although the journey is arduous it should not be miserable because we never walk alone. The hymn that we used to sing says, “He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.” We experience the fullness of joy in His presence (Psalm 16:11). Too many people try to arrive at the place of fulfillment in their own strength and find themselves fainting along the way from fear and disappointment. The Word of God, however, reminds us that the JOY of the Lord is our strength.

In the longest recorded prayer in the Bible, we hear Jesus's heart’s cry for the body of Christ, for his disciples, that they may be made one just as Jesus and the Father are One. When the church is united, when the church is One, the world will see and believe in Jesus. When there is division, we are weak and cannot fight against the culture that is set to destroy the church. However, when there is unity, when there is oneness, God commands His blessings and this brings glory to His name on the earth. There is Power when we are ONE.
