In Jeremiah, in Hebrew, 'Ir-me-yahoo' or 'E-anemias' in Latin. The Hebrew name Jeremiah may mean 'The Lord exalts' or 'The Lord establishes.' It may refer to the fact that Jeremiah was one of the few individuals mentioned in the Bible as being set apart by God before his birth for a special mission and purposes. He was born in the city of Anatot, about 5 km northeast of Jerusalem. His father, Eu quis, was one of the priests in Anatot, in the land of Benjamin, and was part of the Southern Kingdom of Judah. Despite being called by God to serve as a prophet, Jeremiah never ceased to be a priest and intercede, literally weeping, for the people. Because of this, he is considered the 'weeping prophet.' So, in today's video, we will talk about the prophet's history. Good day, my name is Lucas Dário, and welcome to 'Testifying Jesus Christ' [Music]. Jeremiah's ministry began in the 13th year of King Josiah and continued during the last five kings of Judah, in a period of about 40 years. Josiah was one of the most righteous kings of Judah, who implemented various reforms. When he died, Jeremiah bitterly lamented him. After Josiah, four unjust kings ruled: Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and finally, Zedekiah, who were on the throne when the Babylonian forces destroyed Jerusalem and burned a temple.
The Book of Jeremiah is the longest of the prophetic books. To give you an idea, if you combine the twelve minor prophet books, it is only a third of Jeremiah. Jeremiah's life, Jeremiah lived in the last days of the Southern Kingdom of Judah. He consistently warned of an imminent disaster caused by the nation's neglect of true religion, its return to pagan practices, and its social injustice.
Because of his terrible predictions against Judah, Jeremiah was continually subjected to persecution, ridicule, and hostility from kings and rulers. He was thrown into a pit full of mud or sewage. Jeremiah was not the only prophet of his time, as Habakkuk and Zephaniah were among his contemporaries. He also overlapped with the time of Ezekiel, who was in captivity in Babylon.
It is impressive that the substance of the messages proclaimed by Jeremiah and Ezekiel was similar, despite one prophesying in Palestine and the other in Babylon. Historical background of Jeremiah, during Jeremiah's ministry, in 612 BC, Syria was defeated by Babylon, which became the dominant military power. Nebuchadnezzar's army partially destroyed Jerusalem in 604 BC and took creative people to Babylon.
In the first part of the three main removals, the second group of exiles was taken to Babylon in 597 BC. And the third and final removal occurred around 586 BC when Jerusalem was burned and destroyed. During these invasions, Jeremiah was duly protected and received freedom and provisions from the invading army captain. Later, Jeremiah was taken against his will, along with his secretary Baruch and the daughters of King Zedekiah. They escaped and returned to the land of Judah.
His final fate is not clearly recorded in the Bible. Jeremiah's message, Jeremiah was appointed as the prophet to the nations and to all the kingdoms of the world. He was specially sent to help Israel, although much of his message was directed at the people of Judah. He was also instructed to prophesy to the nation of Israel. This has special significance, as the ten northern tribes of Israel were punished and captured in 722 BC, about a hundred years before Jeremiah began his ministry.
Why is this fact significant? It is illogical to imagine that his prophecies refer to ancient Israel before the captivity of Israel in 722 BC. This would be like predicting the First or Second World War long after they had passed, for example, passages in Jeremiah clearly refer to the period before Christ's return at the end of this current era of human government. It is evident that there is a warning message for the modern descendants of the people of Israel through Jeremiah.

King Saul's downfall in the Bible resulted from his disobedience to God's commands. He hastily offered a sacrifice, violating God's instructions. His repeated disobedience led to God rejecting him as king. Tormented by an evil spirit, Saul's jealousy of David escalated. In a decisive battle against the Philistines, Saul was mortally wounded, choosing to take his own life rather than be captured. This marked the tragic end of Saul's reign, opening the path for David to become the next king of Israel.

As explorers of the Divine Cosmos, we navigate through the mysteries of creation and redemption. Our understanding, a compass pointing to the infinite, leads us through the vast fields of faith. For, just as an ancient map unveils unknown lands, the Bible reveals the hidden corners of God's heart.

And I am here to tell you, with the Bible open, that God is Spirit. You have not seen God, and no one has ever seen God. Now, it is true, of course, that the Bible speaks of His hands, but that is just a way to make our limited minds understand that God is very powerful. It is true that the Bible sometimes speaks of His eyes, but that is just a way to make our limited minds understand that He sees everything. It is true that the Bible speaks of His mouth, but that is just a way to make our limited minds understand that God speaks and reveals Himself.
God is Spirit. He has no body, cannot be weighed, measured, touched, or felt. He is a spirit, and God is a personal spirit. Who is God? Because He is not something, He is someone. That is why God has names, and the most well-known name of God is, of course, Jehovah, Yahweh, which is just the English way of writing the name with which He revealed Himself to Moses in the burning bush: 'I am who I am.'
God is someone, and that is why several times in the Bible, we read that people became friends with Him, and He became theirs. And that is why from the beginning of the Bible to the end, we read that God can be known. This is the great God we find in the scriptures.
But how is He in Himself? In terms of space, God is everywhere. 'Do I not fill heaven and earth, says the Lord' (Jeremiah 23:24). This means that God is not absent anywhere, and that God, in all His glory, all His being, all His majesty, all His purity, all His power, everything that God is, is anywhere, anytime, and everywhere, all the time. In terms of space, He is everywhere.
Now, our mortal minds cannot comprehend this. How can it be that all of God is here, and yet all of God is there? How can it be that God, in all His fullness, is here, and yet if we were to go to the farthest galaxy, all of God is there? This leaves us completely perplexed and surpasses our human understanding. But that is what the scripture declares, and all we can do is bow in worship.
God is eternal. In terms of time, He is eternal. 'From everlasting to everlasting, you are God.' When Abraham prayed to Him, or when we pray to Him right now, He is exactly the same. He is utterly unchanged. He had no beginning, has no end, has no age, is infinite. There is no kind of limit to God.

In Genesis 16:3, Sarah, who was still called Sarai, suggests to Abraham, who was still called Abram, to have a child with her Egyptian maidservant Hagar, whom she gives to him as a wife: “Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.” (Genesis 16:3).
This seems to be a common custom of the time since Jacob's wives also resorted to it. The wife offers a servant to her husband, but all children born from this union are considered hers, which could be an early form of surrogacy. In antiquity, it was common for a barren woman to offer her husband a servant who would bear children in her stead; it was the wife, not the servant, who raised the children.
If this solution may have seemed judicious to Abraham and Sarah, it created more problems than it solved. Hagar did indeed have a child with Abraham. When Hagar learned she was pregnant, she began to despise Sarah, and Sarah sought help from Abraham. Genesis 16:4-5 states: “So when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me.’” (Genesis 16:4-5).
Abraham allowed Sarah to act as she wished. Sarah then mistreated Hagar, who fled from her. Sarah, being barren, had obtained a son from Hagar, and Ishmael was legally Sarah's child. However, this does not explain how Sarah treated Hagar.
A few years later, God established a covenant with Abraham, requiring circumcision of all male members of his household. God commanded Abraham to circumcise his son Ishmael as well as all other males in his household, including slaves born in his household and those acquired from foreigners. Abraham was 99 years old when he was circumcised, and Ishmael was 13.
The birth of Isaac, the legitimate son of Sarah and Abraham, exacerbated the already strained relational tensions between Sarah and Hagar. Indeed, these had begun long before Ishmael’s birth, as mentioned previously. It was in the desert that the Angel of the Lord met Hagar and ordered her to return to Abraham. It was also there that the Angel of the Lord told her the son she was carrying was to be named Ishmael. What does Ishmael mean? It means "God has heard." Indeed, the Lord heard Hagar's distress (Genesis, chapter 16, verse 11).

This is a story about Daniel. He actually came to Babylon with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and each king that came and went liked these men because they were honest and hard workers. They were always given the most important jobs which made the other workers of the king jealous.
This time the king's name was Darius and he also liked Daniel. He knew that Daniel was a good worker so he decided to put Daniel in charge of the whole country. The other servants of the king were very jealous of Daniel and they tried to find something that would get Daniel in trouble. They were trying to get him fired, but Daniel obeyed God so they couldn't find anything.
Finally these men said to each other, "We can't find any reason for the king to fire Daniel. The only way we could get him to disobey the king is if we made a law against his god." So they went to king Darius and said, "O great king, you are so wonderful that no one should pray to anyone but you."
The king said, "That sounds like a great idea!" Then the men continued, "All of your workers have agreed that this should be done and that anyone that prays to any other god should be thrown into the lions den."
The workers lied and said that everyone who worked for the king agreed, but of course they never talked to Daniel because they knew he wouldn't agree. The king didn't know this, so he made the law and it couldn't be changed.
When Daniel heard about the new law he did what he always did. He went home to a room upstairs and opened the windows that looked out over the city. Three times that day he went down on his knees and prayed to God just like he always had.
These men went as a group to Daniel's house and found him praying and asking God for help. So they ran straight to the king and told him, "Your worker Daniel is ignoring your command. We have seen him praying to his God three times today."
When the king heard this he was very sad. He really liked Daniel and he didn't want him to die. He tried everything to get the law changed to stop Daniel from being thrown in the lions' den, but the men came to him and reminded him that the law could not be changed and Daniel would have to be punished.
So at the end of the day the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "I hope your God who you serve and pray to will rescue you!"
A large, heavy stone was rolled in front of the den and the king went back to his palace with tears in his eyes. That night King Darius couldn't eat or sleep he was so worried for Daniel.
The next day, as soon as the sun came up the king got up and ran to the lions' den. As he got closer he shouted, "Daniel, has your God who you serve and pray to rescued you from the lions?" The king waited quietly for a response.
Then all of a sudden Daniel said, "O king, live forever! My God sent an angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me because I have done nothing wrong."
The king jumped with joy and immediately ordered that Daniel be removed from the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, there wasn't even a scratch on him because he trusted in God.
The king knew that the men had tricked him into punishing Daniel so he punished them.
After that the king made a new law and he said, "Daniel's God is great, and I order that everyone in my kingdom must respect the Lord God, who rescued Daniel from the hungry lions."

Jonah hated this idea because Nineveh was one of Israel's greatest enemies and Jonah wanted nothing to do with preaching to them!
Jonah tried to run away from God in the opposite direction of Nineveh and headed by boat to Tarsish. God sent a great storm upon the ship and the men decided Jonah was to blame so they threw him overboard. As soon as they tossed Jonah in the water, the storm stopped.
God sent a big fish, some call it a whale, to swallow Jonah and to save him from drowning. While in the belly of the big fish (whale), Jonah prayed to God for help, repented, and praised God. For three days Jonah sat in the belly of the fish. Then, God had the big fish throw up Jonah onto the shores of Nineveh.
Jonah preached to Nineveh and warned them to repent before the city is destroyed in 40 days. The people believed Jonah, turned from their wickedness, and God had mercy on them. Jonah now became angry and bitter because God did not destroy the Ninevites who were Israels enemy! When Jonah sat to rest God provided a vine to give him shade. The next day, God sent a worm to eat the vine. Jonah now sat in the hot sun complaining and wanting to die. God called out to Jonah and scolded him for being so concerned and worried about just a plant while God was concerned with the heart condition and lives of 120,000 people who lived in the city of Nineveh.

The Queen of Esther
In the biblical book named after her, Esther is a young Jewish woman living in the Persian diaspora who finds favor with the king, becomes queen, and risks her life to save the Jewish people from destruction when the court official Haman persuades the king to authorize a pogrom against all the Jews of the empire. Written in the diaspora in the late Persian/early Hellenistic period (fourth century B.C.E.), the Book of Esther is a Jewish novella that deals with the enduring issues of preserving Jewish identity and ensuring survival amid cultural pressures and hostile enemies in a foreign land.

Cain and Abel (/keɪn, ˈeɪbəl/; Hebrew: הֶבֶל ,קַיִן Qayin, Heḇel; Arabic: قابيل، هابيل Qābīl, Hābīl) were sons of Adam and Eve in the biblical Book of Genesis. Cain, the firstborn, tilled the soil, and his brother Abel was a shepherd. The brothers made sacrifices to God, each of his own produce, but God favored Abel's sacrifice instead of Cain's. Cain murdered Abel. God punished Cain to a life of wandering, but set a mark on him so that no man would kill him. Cain then dwelt in the land of Nod (נוד, "wandering"), where he built a city and fathered the line of descendants beginning with Enoch. The narrative never explicitly states Cain's motive (though it does describe him as being wrathful, and his motive is traditionally assumed to be envy), nor God's reason for rejecting Cain's sacrifice, nor details on the identity of Cain's wife. Some traditional interpretations consider Cain to be the originator of evil, violence, or greed.
