EFFECTIVE CHURCH LEADERSHIP by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all." 1Timothy 4:15

As a leader in the Church, you have a divine mandate to lead the people of God effectively, according to God's blueprint for Church leadership. The Bible guides us on what effective Church leadership should look like, and it's essential to follow these guidelines.

Firstly, effective Church leadership begins with your personal relationship with the Lord. As a leader, you must be rooted in God's Word and have a deep understanding of the principles of the Kingdom. This means spending quality time in prayer and studying the Word of God daily, to ensure that you're always aligned with God's perfect will.

Secondly, effective Church leadership requires a heart for the people. Jesus demonstrated this throughout His ministry, extending God's love and compassion to all those He encountered. As a leader, you must have a genuine love for the people you lead and be willing to serve them selflessly.

Thirdly, effective Church leadership requires a willingness to delegate and equip others for the work. There's so much you can achieve as an individual, yet you'll accomplish much more working with and through others. Hence, it's essential to identify and develop other leaders within the Church who can help carry the vision forward. This means empowering others to take on leadership roles, delegating tasks, and providing support and guidance as needed.

Finally, effective Church leadership requires a commitment to excellence. This means giving vent to the excellence in your spirit in everything you do; from preaching and teaching to administration and organization - nothing left out.

This is the year of the Prolific Church, so be determined to make an indelible impact through your personal effectiveness.
