MEMORISE
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18).
READ:
1 Corinthians 13:9-13
[9]. For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
[10]. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
[11]. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
[12]. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
[13]. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
EXPOSITION
Growth is a natural process in all living things. Christians must grow in the faith through godly spiritual exercises that enhance all-round growth. This is a function of life, and only those who are spiritually alive can grow in faith. Christian growth should change our attitude towards service in public, Church, home and private life. Our enthusiasm for Church activities, like Bible study, revival meetings, and evangelism, greatly increases as we engage more deeply in spiritual practices.
This growth also impacts our relationships with others. Some Christians become preachers to share the truth of the gospel with unbelievers, while others become companions to strengthen their faith in Christ (cf. Prov. 27-17; Colossians 3:16). It's important to note that as we grow in Christ, we may need to distance ourselves from certain people whose negative influence can corrupt our character (1 Cor. 15:33). Life is dynamic, so let your spiritual growth in Christ mirror this dynamism (Eph. 4:14-15). Just as you pursue physical growth, be intentional about nurturing your spiritual growth as well.

1. Abide with me fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens, Lord, with me abide!
When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
2. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see
O thou who changest not, abide with me!
3. Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
4. I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me.
5. I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness;
Where is death's sting? where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if thou abide with me.
6. Hold Thou Thy Cross before my closing eyes
Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee:
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!
Amen.
