00:30 - Warm-up: Form check and warming up the body.
03:45 - Row for Endurance: A 4-minute row for distance, with a goal of reaching 400-700 meters. Set a personal goal based on your 500m split time.
07:44 - Rest and recover.

Workout:
08:08 - Row for Strength: Establish a slow stroke rate of 21-23 strokes per minute (SPM) to create more resistance.
09:31 - 20-stroke row at a slow stroke rate. Check and remember the distance covered.
10:37 - Rest and recover.
11:29 - 20-stroke row, aiming to match or beat the previous distance while maintaining the slow stroke rate.
12:33 - Rest and recover.
13:57 - Row for Power: Perform a 1-minute row at maximum intensity, targeting a stroke rate of 28-32 SPM. Remember your watts.
14:57 - 90-second rack and rest to recharge for explosive power.
16:30 - 45-second max intensity row, challenging yourself to match or exceed the previous watts achieved. Consider adding 5-15 watts for an extra challenge.
17:10 - 1-minute rack and rest.
18:11 - 30-second max intensity row, pushing to match or surpass previous watts. Aim for an increase of 5-15 watts.

Cooldown:
19:00 - Cool down and stretching.

Mikko explains his relationship with rower and skierg, and also about how he uses these tools to make him what he is.

This video shows helpful tips on how to get back in a kayak after it has flipped in water that is too deep to touch the bottom.

Re-entering back into a kayak while in the water isn't too difficult as long as you follow the three simple steps that are described in this video.

But on the other hand, if you panic and try to get back in the kayak too quickly, re-entering your kayak can be incredibly tough and frustrating.

Regarding the three steps outlined in this kayak video above, always be sure to not do them too quickly because that can cause you to lose balance and fall back into the water (huge waste of energy).

And if you are having trouble getting back into your kayak, then be sure to watch the end when a common item like a sandwich cooler is used help get back into a kayak more easily.

This cooler trick was a simple experiment I thought of while thinking of ways to make it easier, and it worked out way better than planned.

Please note that we ALWAYS recommend wearing a life jacket / personal flotation device while kayaking, and the only reason we didn't have one on during this kayak video is to show a worst case scenario.

I think this takes the cake as the most unique waterfall i have ever had the opportunity to paddle. This drop carves its path directly through a massive hole in the granite. this is the only known runnable drop on this insanely steep creek. well worth the 2-3 hr hike all the way up there!

BAD RIVER - The Cooks River: Australia's sickest urban river is located in the glamorous and famously pretty city of Sydney. This makes sense, given it’s also Australia's largest, hard-surfaced, drainified, leaky-sewered, city. In my little red kayak I decided to trace all 23km of the Cooks River, inspired to do so after paddling my boyhood river over 4 days in the name of Backyard Adventuring. Finding it not only challenging, but shocking in terms of its ill health, I’ve since shifted from wanting to see the wildest and most pristine places on earth, to the most degraded and sick. This is a journey of ill-health, sadness and hope; putting a test to the local saying, ‘if you fall in, you’ll dissolve’.

I have been asked to post longer videos from scenic locations without music.
You can consider this as slow TV, as nothing really happens in this video except for the change of scenery.
This is a 39 min video from Jølstravatnet lake in Jølster. About 20 min paddle out and 19 min return. Although this part of the lake is called Kjøsnesfjorden, it is not a saltwater fjord. I was filming 5 K with the GoPro 9 from the front of my kayak. I will post the 5 K video without the kayak bow later. This was filmed with a GoPro 9 mounted on my helmet. Settings 2.7 K 4:3 cropped to 16:9 in edit. This was filmed in beginning of October 2020.
