Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. It consists of Lander and Rover configuration. It will be launched by LVM3 from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota. The propulsion module will carry the lander and rover configuration till 100 km lunar orbit. The propulsion module has Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload to study the spectral and Polari metric measurements of Earth from the lunar orbit.
Chandrayaan-3 consists of an indigenous Lander module (LM), Propulsion module (PM) and a Rover with an objective of developing and demonstrating new technologies required for Inter planetary missions. The Lander will have the capability to soft land at a specified lunar site and deploy the Rover which will carry out in-situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface during the course of its mobility. The Lander and the Rover have scientific payloads to carry out experiments on the lunar surface.

In this video we hear the success stories of some of the best scientists in the UK. Featuring fellows of the Royal Society - Professor Shankar Balasubramanian FMedSci FRS, Professor David Klenerman FRS, Professor Paul O’Brien FRS and Sophie Wilson FREng FRS.

How does scientific research move from an idea to an overnight success story?

Sophie Wilson (FREng FRS) whose career started when she joined Acorn Computes Ltd, discusses ARM (Acorn RISC Machine) first designed in 1983; which she describes as “An overnight success, that was 30 years in the making”. In 1985, an updated version of ARM (ARM1) was introduced to the world and worked the first time; later becoming one of the most successful IP cores. In 2012 ARM was being used in the production of 95% of smartphones; as Wilson states, “Practically everyone on the planet owns a device powered by ARM”. Wilson then went on to design and develop Acorn Replay, which was video architecture for Acorn machines. This included the operating system extensions for video access as well as the codecs, which were optimised to run high-frame rate video on ARM CPUs from the ARM 2 onwards.

In 1990 Wilson became a consultant to ARM Ltd when it split from Acorn. In 2012 she was presented with the Fellow Award from the Computer History Museum in Calfornia for her work alongside Steve Furber on the BBC Micro computer and the ARM processor architecture.

We also hear from Professor Paul O’Brien (FRS) the founder of Nanoco – an AIM listed company which manufactures nanoparticles. O’Brien discusses the work he carried out at Imperial College, “finding a new way of synthesizing using simple chemical methods”. During his career he has published over 500 scientific papers, including a series on technology and nanoscience. In the new year he was awarded a CBE for services to science.

We also hear from Professor Shankar Balasubramanian (FMedSci FRS) who discusses how he and Professor David Klenerman (FRS) discovered a faster way of sequencing DNA than previous conventional methods.

Abstract:
How can Data Science help improve our lives?

I will review some personal research success stories that range from analyzing gene expression, protein folding and fMRI data, to the study of optimal positioning of defibrillators, Great Barrier Reef biodiversity and COVID-19 data dynamics.

More in details, some genes are differentially expressed in patients when compared to controls. Identifying them is of paramount importance for diagnosis and for identifying possible treatments.

The Intrinsic Dimension (ID) is a novel methodology that allows the identification of differentially expressed genes and, at the same time, to quantify the uncertainty of the resulting nonlinear clustering of patients.

We have used the same methodology to study when a protein is in a folded versus unfolded state thus allowing to better understand its properties and functionality: failure to fold into a correct three-dimensional structure can produce inactive or even toxic proteins.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measures brain activity by detecting changes associated with blood flow. By analyzing fMRI data using the ID we better understand when an area of the brain is in use because blood flow to that region increases.

Using statistical models, we design risk maps of out of hospital cardiac arrests and help with optimal positioning new defibrillators or relocating existing ones.

Finally, I will present two research lines joint with QUT Centre for Data Science on studying the evolution of biodiversity of the Great Barrier Reef and on clustering countries based on COVID-19 data dynamics.

All these examples share an interdisciplinary flavor and highlight the ability of complex dataset analyzed with the proper statistical tools to improve our understanding of the world, ultimately making our lives better in many ways.

Motivational Success Story Of Albert Einstein - How He Overcame Every Obstacle And Won a Nobel Prize

Albert Einstein grew up in a middle class family. When he was born his family was scared that something was wrong with him . He had very large and misshapen head. But fortunately, within the first few weeks, the shape of his head became normal.

But their worries didn't stop there. When he was very young, his parents thought he might be Intellectually disabled because he was very slow to learn to talk and did not speak until he was 4 years old. At that time he often formed full sentences in his thoughts, but did not speak. He used to practice the sentences in his head or whisper them softly under his breath until he got them right and then say them aloud. Many people believed Einstein would never succeed at anything.

At school Einstein was a good student. Most of his grades were High, and he was near the top of his class, but mainly because of math and science. So His grades depended mostly on his interest in the subject. When Einstein was only 10 years old, he started educating himself. By the age of 12 Einstein taught himself Euclidean geometry and by the age of 15, he mastered calculus.

He dropped out of school at age 15 and left Germany. He applied to the Swiss Federal Institute of technology but believe it or not he failed the entrance exam. Albert Einstein failed an exam. he excelled in math and physics part, but his knowledge on subjects other than that was not good, so he failed the exam and had to take it a second time. And then he was admitted.
After finally graduating He couldn't get a job in academia for almost a decade. But young Einstein needed money so, he got a job as a clerk in a patent office. he developed his most important theories while working his boring job. He developed the theory of relativity and "the world's most famous equation" E = mc2.

Einstein was nominated for a Nobel Prize, but did not receive it until 11 years later.

Motivational Success Story Of Isaac Newton - The Brilliant Scientist Who Changed The World

One of the best scientists and mathematicians of all time, the man behind the laws of motion and universal gravitation .. Isaac Newton, was actually not a good student. He was not very interested in his studies and had poor grades. Isaac was also expelled from school and forced to become a farmer. But despite everything he became one of the most influential scientists that changed the world.

Isaac Newton was born as a premature baby, he was so tiny and weak, he wasn't expected to survive his first day. He never met his father. His father was an uneducated farmer who passed away three months before Isaac Was born.

When he began his education at the age of 12, Isaac Newton was not a good student. He was an introvert who was not very interested in his studies. Even though he was intelligent and curious, he had poor grades. He was also bullied at school, but one time when Isaac stood up to his bully and won, he decided to put more effort in school and outdo his bully. Before the fight, he was near the bottom of his class; after the fight, he became one of the best students in school.

But, did you know that Isaac Newton was kicked out of school. He was expelled as a teenager at the request of his mother, who wanted him to become a farmer. But, he hated being a farmer. And he was so bad at his job, that he was eventually allowed to go back to school.

He began studying at Cambridge University, but in 1665, the school had to close it's doors, forcing Isaac to move back home.

It was during this time that Isaac Newton began developing his own ideas on physics, math, optics and even astronomy. While sitting in the garden one day, he saw an apple fall from a tree. This incident inspired him to develop his law of universal gravitation. He also laid the foundation for his theories of calculus and laws of motion.

His book: Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) made him famous in the world of physics. After publishing this masterpiece, he was knighted by the queen and became Sir Isaac Newton.

The kid who was lonely, bullied, had poor grades and was expelled from school, became one of the most influential scientists of all time.

Gospel artist Kierra Sheard-Kelly and her husband Jordan, who have been open about their fertility struggles, joyfully welcomed their first child, a daughter named Khloe-Drew, in the fall of 2023.

In June of 2024, the couple had their adorable new bundle of joy christened in a lavish, yet intimate ceremony presided over by Kierra's parents, Karen and Drew Sheard, and other clergy members.
