MEMORISE

     Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

READ:

Psalm 119:9-16

[9]. How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

[10]. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

[11]. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

[12]. Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes.

[13]. With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.

[14]. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches.

[15]. I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.

[16]. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

EXPOSITION

       Addressing sexual immorality, including masturbation, among youth requires a delicate, yet essential approach, rooted in the Scripture. Self-control and discipline (cf. Gal 5:22-23) offer tools to resist temptation. Renewing the mind (Rom. 12:2) redirects focus towards godly thoughts and biblical teachings, deterring impure behaviours. Actively staying away from sexual temptation and seeking accountability (Eccl. 4:9-10; Jas. 5-16) foster a supportive environment for growth. One of the reasons advanced by the practitioners of Female Genital Mutilation is to curb promiscuity in female, even as today commemorates International Day of Zero Tolerance for female Genital Mutilation. This claim has been debunked.

      Prayer and fasting (Matt. 17:21: Mk. 9:29) provide spiritual strength. Knowing how God intended sexuality to be (Gen. 1:27-28), brings clarity. Being grateful to God and being contented (1 Tim. 6:6) help to overcome temptation. Repentance and forgiveness (1 Jn. 1:9) offer a chance for redemption and a new beginning. Embracing and appropriating scriptural teachings are essential for victory over sexual immorality.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Thank you Oh Lord for giving us Your powerful and life-giving Word.

2. Lord, let me delight in Your Word and obey it for my daily victorious living.

3. Lord, let the sanctifying power of Your Word saturate my heart, leaving no room for immoralities.

CAC GHB: 816

1. Though the world allure with its gilded charm,

 I'm a child of God, whom it cannot harm;

 He will me uphold by His mighty arm,

 Every moment of my day.

Chorus:

 I've a friend who will ev'ry need supply,

 I've a home far beyond the starry sky,

 And you know, that is just the reason why,

 I am singing Hallelujah!

2. I can ne'er forget how upon the tree

 Laid the son of God, there to die for me;

 Yet to save my soul, thus it had to be,

 There could be no other way.

3. I would e'er be true to my Lord and King,

 Every waking hour praise to Him sing,

 Knowing that at last He my soul shall bring,

 Ever more with Him to stay.

Amen.
