You would be surprised to know that God has no problem with you prospering. I wonder who was the first person to teach that in order to follow God one has to be poor. Whenever a church, pastor, priest, or religious institution shows any kind of financial prosperity, all they encounter is people accusing them of not doing God’s will, or cheating the believers into giving.

I think people put charity and poverty in the same category and therefore someone who is supposed to be loving, and charitable cannot own a good car, large house, or have a healthy bank balance. They confuse meekness, which is not fighting for oneself even if one can, with not having the financial means to get whatever one desires in life.

This is totally contrary to the Biblical concept of prosperity and to what God has promised for those who obey His commandments and meditate on His Word day and night. Does that mean that you will become wealthy the moment you accept Christ? Of course not! However, you will be favored in all you do and God will give you exactly what you need in every situation, making sure you learn what true charity, prosperity, and wealth really mean.

I have truly understood that once you receive Christ, you are now a child of God, then you need to start expecting all your needs met beyond your imagination. You need to expect your barns to burst with abundance because you are faithfully honoring God with your earnings. You need to see how you are able to bless others with whatever you have and see how God brings it back to you multiplied.

(“God truly cares about everything you need, and that includes your finances. Let that sink in! How can someone condemn the teaching of ‘sowing and reaping’, yet live in a fine home, drive a new car, and have a ‘nest egg’ in the bank? Beware of any man who manipulates people’s giving for his own benefit, but beware also of any teaching that contradicts God’s Word, cripples your faith, and leaves you wondering if it’s all right to believe God for His blessings or if it’s right to give, expecting something in return.” – Bob Gass)

Prosperity is having enough to first fulfill God’s purpose for your life and then having enough to bless others.
