Drone video shot on Wednesday (January 15) showed the extent of the damage from the Palisades wildfire in Malibu, California.

Along a stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway, known as one of the most scenic drives in the U.S., buildings lay in ruins. In the nearby hills, the skeletons of buildings stood next to buildings left untouched as ferocious flames tore through the neighborhood.

The main two giant Los Angeles wildfires -- the Palisades fire and the Eaton fire -- have terrified the city for eight days, testing the resolve of a city upended by the worst disaster in its history.
