“Not For You to Know”, Acts 1:6-11, Pastor Jim Davis
References:
Acts 1
Acts 3
Matthew 13
Matthew 19
Matthew 3
Praying - getting the answers we want.
Is it not for you to know?
We want answers as to why.
(Acts 3)
(Matthew 13:58)
You cannot put Jesus in a box.
The most empowering question.
Jesus doesn’t quell the disciples’ misgivings. Didn’t He know He was forcing them to choose if they should give up and walk away? A daily dependence on His word & should they believe it?
Walking with the Lord.
Ego needs to die.
We want to stand on our own strength, not trust.
God keeps us in the dark?
God answers prayer:
1. Yes
2. No
3. Wait
4. Not for you to know
How would you ever learn?
Spend time walking in the dark, look for God’s hand.
The whys?
Learn to trust.
Takes time.
