GOD spoke to Abram in a vision, Genesis 15 (verses 1 & 12-14), After these things [after Abram had rescued Lot from enemy forces] the Word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, “Fear not, Abram: I Am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward”.
(THEN)
when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And HE [GOD] said unto Abram, “Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs [The Land of Egypt] and shall serve them [ultimately as slave labor]; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; and also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

Exodus is the continued narrative of our Redemption. The Lord Jesus is woven throughout the story in similitudes, types and prophecy. He is the Angel of Lord, the I AM, the Passover Lamb (without ’spot or blemish’)… just to name a few.

In this lesson we’ll see our God’s faithfulness to His Word and the gift of GOD’s great deliverance, The Passover, which foreshadows the Cross of our Lord Jesus. Plus we see how GOD deals with kings and armies that have the capacity to harm His children. And how GOD in His great love for us, discipline His own.

NOTE: The Term “Exodus” in the Hebrew יציאת מצרים, (Yeẓi'at Miẓrayim) literally means 'Departure from Egypt’; And in the Greek ἔξοδος = an exit, going out, departure from a place; i.e. the exodus.
