Learn how refrigerators are made as we join Norb Schmidt, Director of Materials Management, for a behind-the-scenes tour of Whirlpool Corporation’s Refrigeration Facility in Amana, Iowa. This facility creates a number of kitchen appliances including microwaves, dishwashers and chest freezers. Foam insulation and door gaskets are installed and tested in every unit to improve energy efficiency. Both employees and automation play big roles throughout the factory.
