South African play recounts horrific events Marikana massacre

On the 16th of August 2012, 34 protesting mineworkers were killed by South African police officers in an area called Marikana, in the country's platinum mining belt. It was the worst incident of police brutality since the advent of democracy. In 2015, the events were turned into a theatre production that went on to win six awards. Now, Marikana: The Musical is back on stage at the State Theatre in Pretoria. CGTN's Julie Scheier went to take a look
