Latrunculi - the ancient Roman board game.
Latrunculi (a.k.a. Ludus Latrunculorum) is an ancient game played in the Roman Empire. The actual rules are lost to history, but modern game historians have developed rules based on archeological evidence and vague literary references.
The NewVenture "Peg Pastimes" version offers two possible rule sets in one package. The first is a placement-and-capture version (similar to Seega and others), and the second version pits two armies on the battlefield with more of a chess-like experience.
The Peg Pastimes series from NewVenture Games is distributed by Red Hen Toys. Visit the link below to get a copy for your own collection!
