Volunteers from the health and first aid charity, St John Ambulance, have given more than one million hours caring for people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Since March 2020 this has consisted of volunteers helping in hospitals, providing emergency ambulance crews responding to 999 calls, providing community services and supporting the NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme.
The charity has also seen a 56% increase in staff hours during this time.
