Oha soup also known as Ora soup originates from the Eastern part of Nigeria and is one of the most popular and delicious native soups. Oha soup (Ora soup) is so delicious that non natives love to eat this delicacy when they get an opportunity to do so. Ora soup is easy to prepare and must be made with Oha leaves as there are no substitutes for the oha leaves. This delicious and easy Nigerian soup can be eaten with Fufu, eba, semovita, pounded yam or by any swallow of your choice. Although, it is believed that cassava Fufu and Oha soup are a match made in Heaven. Ora soup is easy to make and very well worth your time.
ingredients for Oha/Ora soup
12 pieces beef
8 Pieces Ponmo
½ cup palm oil
1 tablespoon Ogiri isi
½ tablespoon Cameroon pepper
8 pieces yellow and red scotch bonnet peppers
2 healed tablespoons grounscrayfish
Shrimp seasoning
4 beef seasoning cubes
Stock fish
15 pieces Cocoyam
1 onions
Salt to taste
2½ bunches oha leaves
10-12 Uziza leaves
2 dried fish
