Pastor Sarah Omakwu was born in Kafanchan in Jema'a LGA of Kaduna State on July 31, 1962 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Jagaba. She read Sociology at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria-Nigeria, where she graduated with a degree in 1984 and afterwards moved to the United States of America, where she got married to Pastor Ina Omakwu.
They have been blessed with three wonderful children (Blessing, Favour (daughters) and Worthy (son). While still in the US, she took a course in Cosmetology in 1987, and then proceeded to Regent University where she bagged a Masters Degree in Counseling in 1992.

Pastor Sarah and Pastor Ina Omakwu returned to Nigeria in 1993 and founded Family Worship Centre in April same year. The church, which started with only 47 members, has grown phenomenally to over 8,000 regular worshippers and currently supports over 100 missionaries and mission agencies in Nigeria. In addition to her Pastoral responsibilities, she also served as the Chief Operation Officer of Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) Int'l, Anglophone West Africa Headquarters, and National Director of Counseling - World Reach Nigeria, the ministry arm of CBN Int'l. She became the President of Family Ministries International and Senior Pastor Family Worship Centre after the home calling of her husband in 2003, being anointed by Dr. Creflo A. Dollar. Pastor Sarah is a very passionate person, constantly showing love and care. She is one of the most honest and truthful people you will ever come in contact with. You don't have to stay long around her before you sense the sweetness of God in her. She has an aura and a presence that permeate the very nature of God. A dynamic, unique Pastor who believes in teaching the word of God in very plain and simple ways.
