These Books were composed over a span of nine centuries i.e. from the tenth century BC to the end of the second century BCDuring this period of one thousand years, Israel is always portrayed as a covenanted People, bound to Yahweh, the Lord of the universe, in faith and obedience, i.e., to worship no other god except Yahweh and to observe the Law.The Historical books anticipate and prepare the coming of the promised messiah, the center of history.
